Tassili Luxury Desert Camp is in Erg Znaigui, 15 to 20 kilometres south of Merzouga. That is the difference: most camps are packed into the same stretch of dunes, one beside the next. We are outside that area, surrounded by dunes and nothing else.
There are 10 private tents, not fifty. Each with its own bathroom, a hot shower, and air conditioning and heating. It is run by a Berber family from the desert, and you notice it at dinner, in the music afterwards, and in the fact that someone is looking after you before you have to ask.

Finding the ideal campsite in Merzouga is a daunting task: the offer is immense and the comments contradictory. […] The first thing that sets it apart is its location: away from the crowded Erg Chebbi area, away from the large and impersonal camps. Everything here is more intimate, more authentic. The camp is exceptional: the delicious food, the cute tent and it had many amenities that made the stay enjoyable, from the bathroom to a very comfortable and warm bed that made us not go cold despite having gone in winter. It is noteworthy that the camp is quite far away from the rest of the camps, which makes one really enjoy the desert experience, like absolute silence. Besides all this, we were surprised by our honeymoon.

Getting to the camp
We are in Erg Znaigui, 15-20 km south of Merzouga, on the N13 road towards Taouz. You do not need to drive or rent a car: getting you here is our job, and the final stretch over sand is done by 4x4.
Flying in? We can meet you at the airport and drive you straight to the camp by private transfer, with no rental car and no hunting for taxis. Send us your flight and we will arrange it.
What people ask us before booking
Is the price per person or per tent?
Per tent per night, according to its occupancy. A double tent is €200 a night for two people, not €200 each, and it includes dinner, breakfast, the camel ride, Berber music, sandboarding and the 4x4 transfer.
Is it cold at night?
In spring and autumn nights sit around 15 °C, and from November to February they drop a good deal further. That is why every tent has heating and air conditioning, from 20:00 to 08:00.
How do we reach the camp?
You do not need to drive. We pick you up and take you to the camp by 4x4, about 10 minutes across the sand, included both ways. If you are flying in, we also arrange the private airport transfer.
Are you open all year?
Yes, all year except July, when we close because of the extreme summer temperatures.
