Quad biking around the Merzouga dunes

A guided route that covers in one morning what would take a full day on foot. Booked separately.

What the route is like

We set off from the camp with a guide who knows the terrain and head out to the dunes and the surrounding area: nomad settlements, stretches of firm sand where you can open up, and viewpoints over the whole area.

No previous experience is needed: the quads are automatic and the guide sets the pace for the group. Helmets are provided.

Questions about quad biking

Do I need a driving licence?

Message us before you book and we will confirm it for the route and vehicle you want. It is the first thing worth clearing up.

Can I ride as a passenger if I do not want to drive?

Yes. You can ride pillion, or do the route with a guide driving. Tell us how many you are and who wants to drive.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the length of the route and how many of you there are. We do not publish it because it varies; message us on WhatsApp and we will give you a fixed price before you arrive.

What should I wear?

Long trousers, closed shoes and sunglasses. Sand gets thrown up, and in short sleeves you end up with red arms even when it is not hot.

Does it clash with the camel ride?

No, they are different things at different times. Quad biking is usually done in the morning or mid-afternoon, and the camel ride at sunset.
